The painting “Camping am Teupitzsee” (trans. “Camping at the Teupitzsee”) (35.0 x 56.0 cm) by the artist Harry Lüttger presents a camp site in a forest by the water. In the right half of the painting, numerous tents and holidaymakers are depicted on a lush green meadow surrounded by trees. A lake stretches across the left had side of the image – the Teupitzsee, upon which fishing boats and small sailing boats are shown. The rural painting produced in 1971 was originally installed in a clubroom of the FDGB Hotels “Seeblick” in Flecken-Zechlin, a district of the town of Rheinsberg in northern Brandenburg. The diverse Rheinsberg landscape with meadows, waterways and towns made it attractive to campers and hotel-guests alike. The available activities are presented in in Lüttger’s painting: fishing, sailing, camping, hiking and bathing.
