Cooking hob
Single cooker type EK VII / 1
The cooking hob with a diameter of 18.5 cm is set in a square, white enamelled base with rounded corners and four feet. The Type EK VII/1 single-unit cooker produced by VEB ELKO Dresden was a popular travel companion since it enabled cooking outdoors or in a caravan. The only requirement was a power socket. A dial on the front left-hand side is used to switch on the hob and regulate the heat. A metal label is fixed to the underside, indicating, among others, the device type, the electrical performance and the country of origin (GDR). There is also a logo of the brand AKA electric – the hallmark of electrical household appliances in the GDR. The brand was sold by VVB Elektrische Konsumgüter, to which VEB ELKO Dresden belonged.
