Film projector

The handy AM8 film projector (21.0 x 12.0 x 26.0 cm) from Czechoslovakia is rectangular and slightly concave. It can project 8 mm film, for instance with images of past holidays that can be presented to friends. The projector is covered in a light blue plastic case that can be removed on one side, revealing the inner metal unit with a grey hammer-blow varnish. The handle on the top is used as a feeder arm when the case is open. A small white lever on the top activates the automatic film feeder. The Czech manufacturer Meopta developed into an important producer of cinema projectors and magnifying devices until the 1970s. After German reunification, the company was privatised and sold, while still remaining in operation to this day.
