Puzzle with travel motifs

The VEB Kombinat Plasticart Annaberg-Buchholz produced, among other items, 300-piece puzzles with travel motifs. Not only the completed puzzle in a 300 x 400 format, but also the box containing it present the finished motif, such as the Hotel Panorama in Oberhof, the Kongresshalle in Karl-Marx-Stadt, the townscape of Oberwiesenthal or a view of the Haus des Reisens in Berlin, the capital of the GDR. These were popular travel destinations for GDR citizens and therefore also sought-after puzzle themes. Aside from travel motifs, puzzles also presented other images from the worlds of fairy tales or sport. The number of puzzle pieces also varied. The Annaberg company produced a large variety of plastic toys, including model vehicles, as well as model aeroplanes of the GDR airline Interflug.
