Sleeping bag
Sleeping bag with inner lining in a floral pattern
The bright red padded sleeping bag (176.0 x 73.0 cm) in a rectangular form with a side zipper was essential for camping holidays. The inner padding has a colourful red, yellow and pink floral pattern. Its 1.76-metre length indicates that it is a children’s sleeping bag. The smooth outer material is quilted with wavy seams. The triangular sleeping-bag hood (28.5 x 26.5 cm) could be used as a cushion. Until the 1960s, sleeping bags were unusual. Campers used blankets inside bed sheets or several layers of blankets. Later, sleeping bags were quick and simple to unroll in a Klappfix tent, saving time when setting up the sleeping area.
